Frequently Asked Questions

The easiest and most effective way to learn more about openings is to call the community’s Administrator. They will discuss any immediate openings or will help you to get placed on the waiting list. If you are certain you would like to live at a particular property, we also suggest completing a rental application and submitting the required entry fee. We are part of a family owned business and we do have other homes that may have immediate availability. We would be happy to put you in touch with the Administrator at those homes as well!

We do our best to meet the care needs of our residents. We are able to assist residents in daily living activities (bathing, dressing, transfers, transports, etc.). We want our home to become your home and we will do all that we can to find a way to allow residents to remain at our home. If the need arises, we can partner with area home health care agencies and /or hospice services to provide additional or higher levels of care. We are licensed for adult foster care and there are some skilled nursing services that we cannot provide in our setting. Our goal is to meet our resident’s needs and keep them safe.

Our professional staff is on duty 24 hours a day to assist residents with their care needs. Our services range from medication management and meal reminders to assistance with activities of daily living (i.e. toileting, dressing, bathing, and ambulation). Each resident’s care is personalized to their individual needs.

Generally, the resident or family pays for their care from their own financial resources. It is private pay; however many people have long-term care insurance. Additionally, residents who are war-time veterans or are a surviving spouse of a war-time veteran may qualify for Aid and Attendance (a program designed to help pay for assisted living).

We encourage you to furnish your apartment to create a home-like feel. Many of our apartments are furnished with a twin size bed, nightstand, and dresser.

Yes, every apartment has a private bathroom and shower.

Respite is offered as availability permits. Many families utilize respite (a short stay) when the caregiver needs to go out of town, has surgery, or simply needs a break. Those who utilize respite care receive the same services as the residents who live here long term. Most of the residents who utilize respite have been doing so for several years.
